The first half of Joshua 12 lists the lands that were conquered under Moses' leadership. (Joshua 12:1-6) The second half lists the land conquered under Joshua's leadership. (Joshua 12:7-24) While there was still land left to take, this celebration of what had happened so far shows the unity between Moses and Joshua as leaders.
Moses led Israel until he died and passed it on to Joshua, who was then commissioned by God. (Deuteronomy 31) Joshua spent most of his life under Moses' leadership. His proximity to Moses prepared him to succeed Moses. Learning from Moses' successes and mistakes helped Joshua lead Israel to follow God and conquer the promised land. God continued what He started with Moses through Joshua, and Chapter 12 shows us the legacy of these two leaders.
Major Moment: The conquered kings and land were listed.
Sometimes it takes generations working together to bring about answers to faithful prayers based on covenant promises. 1 year ago
Loved this. ❤️ Encouraging as it reminds me of the importance of discipling my children and the following generations. 1 year ago
Yes, even if we don't see results, God is faithful who made the promise. 1 year ago
God can do anything, nothing is impossible with him. I need to also surround myself with God focused persons, who I can lead from, and who can help me grow in Christ. Your surroundings should lead you closer to God 2 years ago

Amen ! Moses. Was a strong leader who taught Joshua and Joshua became a strong leader who was dedicated to his God. He knew that his success were not brought about by his leadership alone. Without God they would have suffered many defeats - and he had the humility to tell his people that God was the reason for their successes ! He was an incredible leader and a true follower of the One True God. There is so much that we could learn from Joshua’s leadership style today ! Blessings ✝️💕😊 3 years ago
